We released the free 2.0 Community version of our Obra shadcn UI kit a month ago, but there is a problem: it's actually a little bit too good. Soon, we will remove some of the free features because the free edition is hurting our Pro kit sales.

So, grab it while it's hot. The Community edition has 90% of the features of Pro, and it's especially great if you only need Nova. You can get something for free that is currently between $200-$1,000 USD, depending on licenses, when you grab it either from us or from some competitors.

A quick explanation of how multi-brand works in the Obra shadcn/ui kit: create new Figma modes, then export them with the CSS Export plugin (Pro only). Also covers what's included with Enterprise: access to the CSS Export plugin's source code so you can customize it for your own dev pipeline.

A 2026 follow-up to our 2025 getting started video. Johan walks through the free workflow: duplicate the Community Edition 2.0.0 file, optionally remove the documentation, create a shadcn/ui preset at ui.shadcn.com/create, run the Obra shadcn/ui Create plugin with that preset, then customize your components — using Autodocs as your guide.

We've released an all-new version of our Obra shadcn/ui Figma file! In this video, we explain the differences between Community and Pro: all 8 shadcn/ui styles for Pro customers (Nova only for Community), 6 new components (Chat + Questionnaire), and a simplified variable/theming structure.
