Introducing Nova — the missing style
May 20th, 2026
Today, we released Obra shadcn/ui 1.11.0.
We’re pleased to announce this fills a feature gap in our shadcn/ui kit offering — the kit is now available in both the Nova and the Vega style.
As always, you can find the full details of what changed in the changelog.
We’ve thought long and hard about how to support the different shadcn/ui styles. We’ve arrived at a solution where we deliver multiple Figma files as starting points, each one in a base style.
This means that in the download center, you can find downloadable files for the individual styles Nova and Vega.
What about Obra Custom then?#
For existing users wondering how this relates to the custom components in Obra Custom: we continue to support rounded controls (inputs and buttons) in the Vega and Nova styles via our OC components. We might eventually phase these out, with the rounded versions of controls living in different versions of the kit (e.g. Luma, the rounded style).
What about supporting more styles?#
The roadmap item to support all styles by August remains. The remaining styles to support are Luma, Maia, Sera, Lyra and Mira.
We originally had Nova on the roadmap for August too, but due to a client customization project, we got it done quicker. Find out more about our customization services here.
How can I get the Nova version?#
Log in to the downloads center — linked from your purchase mail — with your license key. Select which version you want from the releases dropdown. Every customer has access to all releases published since they purchased the kit.
