The Obra shadcn/ui Create plugin: presets and icon swaps

Today we're shipping the shadcn/ui Create plugin. It rethemes the whole kit in seconds — pick a theme, paste a preset, or swap the entire icon set.

Decode presets#

Paste a preset code straight from shadcn/ui Create and hit Decode to pull your font and color choices into the kit — or pick a base color, theme, chart color and fonts by hand. Either way, your Figma file and your code start from the same place.

Automatically swap icon sets#

Swap every Lucide icon in the kit over to Phosphor, Tabler, or Remix in one go — full coverage across the kit. Doing this by hand would mean re-placing hundreds of icons one by one, so this saves a massive amount of time. The plugin also checkpoints your file to version history before every change, so you can always roll back.

Win a copy of the kit#

Icon swaps rely on a mapping that pairs each Lucide icon with its closest equivalent in Phosphor, Tabler, and Remix. The better that mapping, the better the swaps — so we’re crowdsourcing improvements through a small contest, and you can win a copy of the kit by helping out. Take part here. The winner will be announced on Thursday the 18th at 11:15 Central Time (US).

Once it’s done, we’ll share the resulting dataset openly with the community.

Where to get it#

The plugin is now available on the Figma Community — install and run it in one click, and it updates automatically whenever we ship a new version. If you’re an existing customer, we recommend trying it out on a duplicate of your file first. Still beta — feedback welcome.
